Dark, creepy, goth portraits in a south florida marsh?


Well, yes!

It's more rare that I get to photograph creative portraits like this since most of my clientele are hiring me for high school senior portraits or weddings/elopements. So when Kaleigh came to me describing her vision for really dark, creepy, alternative, gothic photos, I was STOKED. We ended up deciding to shoot at Tree Tops Park in Davie, FL, which has these really gorgeous oversized trees with root networks that are twisty and humongous so it was kind of the perfect setting. Kaleigh's hair is an absolute sight to behold so after getting warmed up with some creepy solemn images amongst the trees, we walked a little farther into the marsh and started doing some hair tosses that look so freaking cool. Her commitment to essentially looking like Samara, the girl from The Ring, is impeccable, honestly, and the photos just kept getting weirder and better as the sun set. I'm obsessed with how different this set of images is from the rest of what I normally shoot- it's such a privilege to get to be creative with clients who trust me!
