A love that's palpable
That's what Rebecca and Jack have. I swear, every time I peruse through these images from their engagement session at the Boston Public Library, I can feel the emotion and love these two have for one another. When Rebecca got in touch with me about photographing their wedding, what stood out to me was when she said she wanted her wedding photos to feel like they were taken from a storybook. She wanted cinematic, emotive photography, and so you know I had to bring it for their engagement session. When I found out we would be shooting at one of the most beautiful architectural masterpieces in Boston, I was stoked beyond belief- but then the two of them show up that morning looking like human perfection and I knew it was going to be a killer shoot.
We only had an hour to shoot all around the library, so it was kind of like being on Supermarket Sweep for me (omg what a dream that would be amirite fellow 90s kids??) the way I was making sure we soaked up every minute of that time in such a gorgeous location. We started inside in the great hall, made our way up the insanely stunning staircase, and ended among the books and tables in the main room upstairs. The light was *chef's kiss* and we created the perfect mix of moody, emotive images that showcase Rebecca and Jack's connection so beautifully.
But Wait, there's more!
One of the great things about the BPL is that you have access to the inner courtyard area as well, so you can split your time inside and out for even more variety in your session. We flitted around the courtyard using every nook and cranny to tell their story. And honestly, the two of them look so put together, that it kinda looks like we're strolling through their own personal manicured gardens. The columns, Juliet balcony, stonework, and fountain give European wedding venue vibes and as the avid traveler you all know I am, I light up when I'm in spaces that remind of my favorite places across the Atlantic. I would kill to photograph a destination elopement in Europe, but until then, Jack and Rebecca gave me a little taste right in my backyard, and for that, I am grateful.
The countdown to the wedding begins!
XO,
Danielle
